Masjid Ayesha servers as a Miqat for the people who are in Makkah and wants to perform their Hajj and for those pilgrims who wants to repeat their Umrah i.e. want to do their Umrah rituals more than one time, they go to masjid Ayesha and get in the state of Ihram to perform the holy Hajj and Umrah. The holy Taneem Mosque is about 10 km from the Al Haram Mosque and is situated on the highway as we go towards Madinah. The Masjid Ayesha is named after the wife of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Aisha, prepared to enter Ihram in this mosque in order to perform her Umrah pilgrimage. The Masjid of Taneem is well equipped with all facilities required for pilgrims to go in the state of Ihram like a large no of Hammams (Bathrooms) separate for gents and ladies and other facilities. Hzt Ayesha Siddique (RA) was allowed by the prophet (WAS) as a special case when Aisha could not complete her Umrah on account of being in an impure state due to menstrual period. Aisha's (RA) brother who accompanied her to Taneem and back did not perform another Umrah along with his sister, understanding that it was a special allowance made for Aisha or any woman who happens to become impure, due to her menstrual period. Nowadays It is the nearest and most convenient location to enter into Ihram for those residing within the boundaries of the Haram. This is quite a big mosque with facilities for baths, ablution and changing, available for pilgrims and those who come to offer regular prayers. Ihram is the sacred state one has to enter while performing the pilgrimage of Umrah and Hajj. Muslims have to change in Ihram clothes at one of the specified Miqat depending upon the course of one’s travel. Masjid Ayesha serves as a Miqat for people in Makkah for the holy pilgrimage of Umrah and Hajj.
Miqat: Meaning “a stated place,” Miqat boundaries are the five stations at which all pilgrims on Hajj are required to put on their Ihram, the religiously recommended Hajj garment. According to Islamic history, these five stations were set up by Prophet Muhammad PBUH.
