Jannat Al Maulla is the Graveyard or Cemetery (Qabristan), where many of Sahabas (RA) and relatives of bellowed prophet (PBUH) are buried here and some of them Important personalities are:
Hazrat Khadija (RA) - Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) first wife.
Abdul Mutalib - Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) grandfather.
Abu Talib - Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) uncle.
Abdullah - Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Hazrat Khadija's (RA) second son, who was also known as Tahir and Tayyab.
Qasim - Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Hazrat Khadija's (RA) eldest son who died in his infancy.
JannatulMualla holds great importance in the history of Islam. Every year, hundreds of Muslims pilgrims (during Hajj or Umrah) visit JannatulMualla to pay their respects to the beloved family members and companions of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Because there are no longer any kind of identification marks on the graves like name etc. only a long white wall is constructed to create a boundary around the sacred area (around JannatulMualla). JannatulMualla, also known as “Al-Hajun” and the “Cemetery of Ma’la,”. JannatulMualla is located 1 kilometer north of Masjid Al-Haram in Makkah. It is of only 15-minutes of walk from the Grand Mosque but if we go by car, the route is 9 kilometers long, however, still it takes the same amount of time as by walking.
